What is TESOL?

TESOL, or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, is designed to prepare non-native English speakers to become English language educators. Our program is rooted in a simple but powerful idea: those who have experienced learning English as adults can become some of the most effective and inspiring teachers. Having navigated the language-learning process themselves, these educators bring firsthand understanding, empathy, and valuable perspective to the classroom.

In fact, did you know that at least 80% of English teachers worldwide are non-native English speakers? Multilingual educators play an essential role in English language education around the world, and our program helps cultivate the next generation of these teachers. By graduation, participants earn their Best Practices in TESOL certification from World Learning, marking an important personal achievement and a meaningful step toward building a community of educators who reflect and understand the experiences of the students they serve.
